Design elements include USCGC Northwind WAGB-282, "George 1" aircraft - Globe with routes taken by the different groups of ships and "Operation Highjump Logo" commonly used on covers from the period for Operation Highjump. The background colors represent the Aurora Australis seen in the South Pole Region.
