This section lists active links to the pages displaying covers associated with the ship. There should be a separate set of pages for each incarnation of the ship (ie, for each entry in the "Ship Name and Designation History" section). Covers should be presented in chronological order (or as best as can be determined).
Since a ship may have many covers, they may be split among many pages so it doesn't take forever for the pages to load. Each page link should be accompanied by a date range for covers on that page.

Postmarks
This section lists examples of the postmarks used by the ship. There should be a separate set of postmarks for each incarnation of the ship (ie, for each entry in the "Ship Name and Designation History" section). Within each set, the postmarks should be listed in order of their classification type. If more than one postmark has the same classification, then they should be further sorted by date of earliest known usage.
A postmark should not be included unless accompanied by a close-up image and/or an
image of a cover showing that postmark. Date ranges MUST be based ONLY ON COVERS IN
THE MUSEUM and are expected to change as more covers are added.

Other Information
USS TOWERS earned the Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon, the Meritorious Unit Commendation Ribbon and the Vietnam Campaign Medal w/ 4 Campaign Stars during her Naval career.
NAMESAKE - Admiral John Henry Towers, USN (January 30 1885 - April 30 1955).
Graduating from the US Naval Academy in 1906, he made important contributions to the technical and organizational development of Naval Aviation from its very beginnings, eventually serving as Chief of the Bureau of Aeronautics (1939-1942). As Vice-Admiral, he was the Deputy Commander-in-Chief, Pacific Ocean Area (DCINCPAO) and Deputy Commander-in-Chief, Pacific Fleet (DCINCPAC). In August 1945, Towers was given command of the 2d Carrier Task Force and Task Force 38, Pacific Fleet. On November 7 1945, he broke his flag in the battleship New Jersey (BB-62) as Commander, 5th Fleet. On February 1 1946, he hoisted his flag in the carrier Bennington (CV-20) as Commander in Chief, Pacific Fleet, a post he held until March of 1947. Admiral Towers retired in December 1947.
