Naval Covers

This section lists active links to the pages displaying covers associated with the ship. Postmarks

Within each set, the postmarks should be listed in order of their classification type. USS LA SALLE earned the Combat Action Ribbon, the Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon (2 awards), the Navy Meritorious Unit Commendation Ribbon (4 awards), the Navy Battle "E" Ribbon (2 awards), the Navy Expeditionary Medal (3 awards), the National Defense Service Medal, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (3 awards), the Armed Forces Service Medal (4 awards) and the Humanitarian Service Medal (2 awards) during her Naval career.

NAMESAKE - The city of La Salle, Illinois. Nnamed for Rene Robert Chevalier de La Salle, one of the most celebrated explorers and builders of New France in the 17th century.
