NAMESAKE - Named for Baron Friedrich Wilhelm von Steuben (1730–1794), a Prussian army officer who served in the American Revolutionary War.

Two ships of the US Navy have born the name VON STEUBEN - USS Von Steuben (ID-3017) and USS Von Steuben SSBN-632.
