This section lists the names and designations that the ship had during its lifetime. The list is in chronological order.

    Admirable Class Minesweeper
    Keel Laid November 24 1943 - Launched March 30 1944

  2. Commissioned November 18 1944 - Decommissioned May 20 1945

  3. T-282 (Soviet Union Naval Service)
  4. Transferred to the Soviet Union 1945 and redesignated

  5. SHKVAL (Soviet Union Naval Service)
  6. Converted to a naval trawler in 1948

    Scrapped by the Soviet Union 1960

  7. RAMPART MSF-282
  8. Although still in possession of the Soviet Union, US Navy "administratively" reclassified the ship as a Fleet Minesweeper (Steel Hull), MSF-282, 7 February 1955 Officially struck from Naval Register 1983

    Scrapped in 1960

 

Naval Covers

This section lists active links to the pages displaying covers associated with the ship. Covers should be presented in chronological order (or as best as can be determined).

Postmarks

This section lists examples of the postmarks used by the ship. There should be a separate set of postmarks for each incarnation of the ship (ie, for each entry in the "Ship Name and Designation History" section). Within each set, the postmarks should be listed in order of their classification type. If more than one postmark has the same classification, then they should be further sorted by date of earliest known usage.

A postmark should not be included unless accompanied by a close-up image and/or an image of a cover showing that postmark. Date ranges MUST be based ONLY ON COVERS IN THE MUSEUM and are expected to change as more covers are added.
