Other Information

USS MARQUETTE earned the American Campaign Medal, the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, the World War II Victory Medal, Navy Occupation Service Medal w/ Europe clasp and the National Defense Service Medal during her Naval career.

NAMESAKE - Named for counties in Michigan and Wisconsin.

The ships sponsor was Mrs. Sydney B. Wertheimer.
