If more than one postmark has the same classification, then they should be further sorted by date of earliest known usage.
A postmark should not be included unless accompanied by a close-up image and/or an
image of a cover showing that postmark. Date ranges MUST be based ONLY ON COVERS IN
THE MUSEUM and are expected to change as more covers are added.

NAMESAKE - Jackson Keith Loy USN (April 29 1922 - November 12 1942)
Loy enlisted in the Navy September 4 1940 and served in USS SAN FRANCISCO CA-38 from December 6 1940, and was aboard during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor December 7 1941. Loy was killed in action November 12 1942 when enemy aircraft attacked his ship off Lunga Point, Guadalcanal. Gunner’s Mate Third Class Loy, manning an after 20mm. mount, fired at an attacker until killed by the crashing plane. His inspiring courage, cool determination, and utter disregard for his own safety were recognized with the posthumous award of The Navy Cross
