Ships sponsor was Miss Mary-Lin Moore, daughter of Capt. R. J. Moore, USN.

Two ships of the US Navy have borne the name IMPERVIOUS - USS Impervious AM-245 (canceled 6 June 1944) and USS Impervious MSO-449.
