Naval Covers

This section lists active links to the pages displaying covers associated with the ship. Other Information

USS DOUGLAS L. HOWARD earned the American Campaign Medal, the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, the European-Africa-Middle East Campaign Medal w/ 1 Battle star, the WWII Victory Medal and the Navy Occupation Service Medal during her Naval career.

NAMESAKE - Captain Douglas Legate Howard, USN (11 February 1885 - 14 December 1936)
         Howard was a member of the Naval Academy class of 1906. He was commanding officer of USS Drayton DD-23, USS Rowan DD-64, and USS Bell DD-95 during World War I and was awarded the Navy Cross for his distinguished service on patrol and convoy escort duty in waters infested with submarines and mines. Captain Howard retired in 1933 and died at Annapolis December 14 1936
