Composition: members in the Los Angeles area. Organized: June 1934 (Bulletins No. 37 & 41)
Continued operations during WWII under President James E. Wilson, reorganized December 8, 1946 (Dec 1946 Log); not listed in USCS Membership report of 1949. Reactivated (Nov 1964 Log) but apparently not for long. Reactivated 1972 (USCS Log October 1972, page 96)
Organizing members: W.J. Leiner (#441), President; H.J. Lindhardt (125), Vice Pres; Ala Kleinpell (#443), Secty-Treas; Richard Dumonte (#145)
Reorganized 1946 by David Brockton Browne with Willis Hendrick as President
Reactivated 1964 by Charles French, President; William Eaton, Vice Pres; Edward Morrison Secty-Treas; Al & Sam Moses.
Reactivated 1972 by Charles French with members Louis Bushnell, Lector Orick, Dorothy Mitchell.
Cachet Directors: 1934-35 Richard Dumonte, 1936 Nat Williams, 1937 H.J. Lindhardt, 1938-40 K.F. Hermann, 1941 Henry Stinemetts.
Chapter sponsored a variety of covers for historical events, visits to Long Beach, Macon overflights, some in two colors. Artists are not identified, nor is quantity information available. The Chapter offered to service covers for members (June 15, 1938 Log) in the following ships: Hannibal, Bushnell, Potomac, Ramapo, Salinas, Vega, Vestal, Bridge, Brazos, Arctic, Medusa, Kanawha, Cuyama, Neches. It is unclear if or how these were identified. After later reorganizations in 1946, 1964 and 1972, cover sponsorship was minimal with only one recorded.
