Cachet Maker Hobby Shop (Washington DC)
Cachets should be listed in chronological order based on earliest known usage. Use
the postmark date or best guess. This applies to add-on cachets as well.
"Hobby Shop, probably better known as Hobby Cover Service, of Washington, DC was operated by J. Henry Wilkins. Their first cachet was for the 1932 Washington Bicentennial (Scott 704-715), two months after the posted US Frigate Constitution cover. Their last cachet is not known, but I have one for the SPA souvenir sheet (Scott 797) on August 26, 1937. I believe that Wilkins was only interested in first day covers, not naval covers." Foster E. Miller, III.
