The piece was mailed from New York City to the Navy Department, Washington DC. Rerouted to the Coast Survey Office, Washington DC. Ensign Sweeting had been reassigned to the USC&GS Schooner READY. This cover was marked Postage Due, stamp applied and postmarked with a Received marking from a unreadable city.
