This section lists the names and designations that the ship had during its lifetime. The list is in chronological order.
Built 1912 at Newport News Shipbuilding and Drydock Co., Newport News, VA as a lumber-carrying steamer for the C. A. Smith Lumber Company Official Number: 210768 Chartered 3 January 1942 by the U.S. War Shipping Administration (WSA) and handed over to the U.S. Army Outright purchased by the WSA from W. R. Chamberlin & Co. for the Navy on 21 May 1943 Renamed to TACKLE on June 8 1943 Broken up between July 1 and September 30, 1949 |

Most of the history shown above comes from this source.
They do misspell "Chamberlin" as "Chamberlain" for both the name of the ship and the company that owned it.
NavSource also uses the incorrect "Chamberlain" instead of "Chamberlin"
and does not show the ship's early history as
ADELINE SMITH and STANLEY DOLLAR nor the post-WWII history and scrapping.
Wikipedia mostly mirrors NavSource.
Oddly, while they misspell the ship's name as W. R. CHAMBERLAIN, JR., they do get the company name correct (W. R. Chamberlin & Co.).

There should be a separate set of pages for each name of the ship (for example, Bushnell AG-32 / Sumner AGS-5 are different names for the same ship so there should be one set of pages for Bushnell and one set for Sumner).
