image of a cover showing that postmark. Date ranges MUST be based ONLY ON COVERS IN
THE MUSEUM and are expected to change as more covers are added.

USS HUMPHREYS earned the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal w/ 7 Battle Stars and the World War II Victory Medal during her Naval career.
NAMESAKE - Joshua Humphreys (17 June 1751 – 12 January 1838)
Humphreys was an influential and successful ship builder in the United States.
The ships sponsor was Miss Letitia A. Humphreys, great-granddaughter of Joshua Humphreys.
