Other Information

USS PECOS earned the Combat Action Ribbon, the China Service Medal, the American Defense Service Medal (with Fleet clasp), the American Campaign Medal, the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal (w/ 1 Battle star) and the World War II Victory Medal during her Naval career.

NAMESAKE - A river in New Mexico and Texas.

Two ships of the US Navy have borne the name PECOS - USS Pecos AO-6 and USS Pecos AO / T-AO-65.
