Note: This is a naval cover from the Federal Republic of Germany Navy the type XXIII diesel submarine "Hai" S 170 (Shark) ex-U 2365. The Hai has an interesting career.
She was U-2365 and was sunk in Danish waters by her crew in WWII to avoid capture by the allied forces. She was raised at a cost of 2.5 mil marks and found to be in fantastic condition many years later. She was returned to service in the Federal Republic of Germany Navy. This cover has a two line stamp from the boat.

Note: This is a naval cover from the Federal Republic of Germany Navy the type XXIII diesel submarine "Hecht" S 171 (Pike) ex-U 2367. The Hecht has an interesting career.
Sank 5 May, 1945 near Schleimünde, in approximate position 55.00N, 11.00E, after a collision with an unidentified German U-boat. Raised in August 1956. Renamed U-Hecht (pike) and served in the German Federal Navy from 1 Oct, 1957. Stricken on 30 Sep, 1968 and broken up at Kiel in 1969.
