image of a cover showing that postmark. Date ranges MUST be based ONLY ON COVERS IN
THE MUSEUM and are expected to change as more covers are added.

USS NEOSHO earned the Combat Action Ribbon (2 awards), the American Defense Campaign Medal (with Fleet clasp), the American Campaign Medal, the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal w/ 2 Battle stars and the World War II Victory Medal during her Naval career.
USS NEOSHO was at Pearl Harbor on December 7 1941
NAMESAKE - A river flowing south from its source in Morris County in east central Kansas until emptying into the Arkansas River near Fort Gibson in Muskogee County, OK.
The ships sponsor was Mrs. Emory S. Land, wife of Rear Adm. Emory S. Land (Ret.), Chairman of the Maritime Commission.
Four ships of the US Navy have borne the name NEOSHO - USS Neosho (1863 River Monitor), USS Neosho AO-23, USS Neosho AO-48 and USNS Neosho T-AO-143.
