CRESCENT CITY earned the Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon, the China Service Medal, the American Defense Service Medal (with Fleet clasp), the American Campaign Medal, the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal w/ 10 Battle stars, the World War II Victory Medal, the Navy Occupation Service Medal (with Asia clasp) and the Philippines Liberation Medal (2 awards) during her Naval career.

NAMESAKE - A popular nickname for the city of New Orleans, Louisiana.
