USS BOGUE earned the Presidential Unit Citation Ribbon, the American Campaign Medal (1 star), the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal w/ 2 Battle stars, the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal w/ 1 Battle star, the World War II Victory Medal and the Navy Occupation Service Medal w/ "Asia" clasp during her Naval career.

NAMESAKE - A sound in North Carolina.

The ships sponsor was Mrs. W. Miller, Jr., wife of Lieutenant Commander Miller.
