USS ANAQUA earned the American Campaign Medal, the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and the World War II Victory Medal during her Naval career.

NAMESAKE - A fruit bearing tree or shrub native to Mexico and southwestern Texas.

The ships sponsor was Miss Marian Swalwell.
