Other Information

KALMIA received the following awards during her Naval career: American Defense Medal (with Fleet clasp) - American Campaign Medal - World War II Victory Medal.

NAMESAKE - A genus of North American shrubs of the heath family with evergreen leaves and umbellate clusters of rose, purple, or white flowers.
