Naval Covers

This section lists active links to the pages displaying covers associated with the ship. There should be a separate set of pages for each name of the ship (for example, Bushnell AG-32 / Sumner AGS-5 are different names for the same ship so there should be one set of pages for Bushnell and one set for Sumner). Other Information

NAMESAKE - Sergeant Medgar Wiley Evers, USA (2 July 1925 – 12 June 1963).
Born in Decatur, Mississippi, Evers was an World War II veteran (US Army 1943-45) of the European Theater where he fought in the Battle of Normandy in June 1944. After the end of the war, Evers was honorably discharged as a sergeant. Evers was also an NAACP civil rights activist and was assassinated in Jackson Mississippi.

Ship's sponsor is Myrlie Louise Evers–Williams, Medgar Evers widow.
