Other Information

USS/USCGC CHINCOTEAGUE earned the Combat Action Ribbon, the China Service Medal, the American Campaign Medal, the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal w/ 6 Battle stars, the World War II Victory Medal, the Navy Occupation Service Medal w/(with Asia clasp and the National Defense Service Medal during her USN/USCG career.

NAMESAKE - Chincoteague Island, Virginia.

Three cutters of the US Coast Guard have borne the name CHINCOTEAGUE - USCGC Chincoteague (1919 Tug), USCGC Chincoteague WHEC-375 and USCGC Chincoteague WPB-1320.
