SARATOGA received the following awards during her Naval career - American Defense Service Medal with "Fleet" clasp - American Campaign Medal - Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with 8 stars - World War II Victory Medal.

NAMESAKE - The Battle of Saratoga in September and October 1777.
