USS ASPRO earned the Asiatic-Pacific Medal with 7 Battle Stars for her WWII service.

NAMESAKE - Named for a fish found abundantly in the upper Rhone River.

Two submarines of the US Navy have borne the name ASPRO - USS Aspro AGSS-309 and USS Aspro SSN-648.
