This section lists the names and designations that the ship had during its lifetime. The list is in chronological order.

Thresher Class Attack Submarine Keel Laid 28 May 1958 - Launched 9 July 1960 USS THRESHER SSN-593 Commissioned 3 August 1961 - SUNK 10 April 1963 SUNK as a result of a casualty during diving tests in 1,400 fathoms of water, approximately 220 miles east of Boston, MA. 16 officers, 96 enlisted men and 17 civilian technicians remain on Eternal Patrol Struck from Naval Register 10 April 1963

Naval Covers
