Other Information

USS JAMES O'HARA earned the American Campaign Medal, the Europe-Africa-Middle East Campaign Medal w/ 2 Battle stars, the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal w/ 5 Battle stars, the World War II Victory Medal, the Navy Occupation Service Medal (w/ Asia clasp, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal w/ 1 Campaign star, the Philippine Liberation Medal, the United Nations Service Medal and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal during her Naval career.

NAMESAKE - Captain James O'Hara (1752 - 16 December 1819)
Revolutionary War Captain and later Quartermaster General under President George Washington. He was a very successful government businessman in procuring government contracts.
