Naval Covers

USS SILENUS earned the American Campaign Medal, the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal w/ 1 Battle star, the World War II Victory Medal and the Navy Occupation Service Medal w/ Asia clasp during her Naval career.

NAMESAKE - In Greek mythology, Silenus was the son of Hermes and a nymph, the oldest of the Satyrs.

The ships sponsor was Miss Bernice Moore.
