USS HILARY P. JONES earned the Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon, the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal w/ 4 Battle Stars and the WWII Victory Medal during her Naval service.

HILARY P. JONES DD-427 was at Tokyo Bay September 2 1945 for the Japanese surrender

NAMESAKE - Named in Honor of Admiral Hilary Pollard Jones, Jr. USN (November 14 1863 – January 1 1938) an Officer in The United States Navy during The Spanish-American War and World War I. During the early 1920s, he served as Commander in Chief, United States Fleet.
