Sent by TM3/c Lewis Jerome Beers (1922-2015).  He joined the crew May 5, 1944 and transferred in Oct. 1945, a few days before the ship was decommissioned.<br/>
The censor "CAC" is Lt(jg) Clair A. Callan (1920-2005), who had recently been promoted.  He was from Nebraska, and served a term in the House of Representatives 1965-1967.

Category

The censor “W.S.B.” is the commanding officer Winston Seaborn Brown (1908-1999). He had acted as censor while XO and, per this cover, continued to do that even after taking over as CO.
