Cachets should be listed in chronological order based on earliest known usage. Use the postmark date or best guess. This applies to add-on cachets as well.

Curtis James Leopard (1904-1982) enlisted in the US Navy in 1922 and eventually became a boatswains mate. In December 1930 he was assigned to USS ARIZONA BB-39, and remained on board for 11 years. During the period 1935-1936, Leopard was active in producing cachets from USS ARIZONA, listed as cachet director with at least 13 different covers. His name is listed on covers as Jimmie Leopard, Jimmy Leopard, and sometimes C.J. Leopard. He was not a mail clerk, but assisted collectors in getting cancels from the ship, and in return asked for duplicates for his own collection. He was a member of the USCS (#836), ANCS (#148) and RCD (#80) during these years. Leopard was on board USS ARIZONA on December 7, 1941, and was one of the survivors. He retired in 1947 as a BMC. Biography courtesy of Lloyd Ferrell.
