Naval Covers

This section lists active links to the pages displaying covers associated with the ship. Other Information

USS POINT DEFIANCE earned the Combat Action Ribbon (2 awards), the Navy Battle "E" Ribbon, the National Defense Service Medal, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (2 awards), the Vietnam Service Medal (w/ 10 Campaign stars), the Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation Ribbon (12 awards) and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal during her Naval career.

NAMESAKE - A park in Pierce County, Tacoma, Wash., the site of a military reservation established by the U.S. Government in 1866.

The ships sponsor was Mrs. Arthur D. Struble.
