Other Information

USS KASAAN BAY earned the American Campaign Medal, the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal w/ 1 Battle star, the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and the World War II Victory Medal during her Naval career.

NAMESAKE - Named for a bay that extends NW 22 miles, off Clarence Strait, on the East coast of Prince of Wales Island, Alexander Archipelago, Alaska.

The ships sponsor was Mrs. Robert W. Morse, wife of Captain Morse, U.S. Navy.
