USS WHITNEY was at Pearl Harbor, December 7 1941

USS WHITNEY earned the American Defense Service Medal (with Fleet clasp), the American Campaign Medal, the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal w/ 1 Battle star, the World War II Victory Medal and the Philippines Liberation Medal during her Naval career.

NAMESAKE - William Collins Whitney (5 July 1841 - 2 February 1904)
Whitney was the 31st Secretary of the Navy and American political leader.
