Naval Covers

Other Information

USS ALLAGASH earned the World War II Victory Medal, the National Defense Service Medal (2 awards) and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal during her Naval career.

NAMESAKE - Named for a river in Piscataquis and Aroostook Counties in northern Maine that flows into the St. John River.

The ships sponsor was Mrs. Reuben D. Vining.
