USS WARRINGTON earned the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal w/ 2 battle stars for her service during World War II

NAMESAKE - Commodore Lewis Warrington, USN (3 November 1782 - 12 October 1851)
Warrington was a Naval Officer during The Quasi-war with France and The War of 1812. He temporarily served as the Secretary of the Navy.

The ships sponsor was Miss Katherine Taft Chubb.

Three ships of the US Navy have been named in his honor - USS Warrington DD-30, USS Warrington DD-383 and USS Warrington DD-843
