Naval Covers

This section lists active links to the pages displaying covers associated with the ship. USS OGDEN earned the following awards during her Naval career: Combat Action Ribbon (2 awards), the Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon, the Navy Meritorious Unit Commendation (2 awards), the Navy Battle "E" Ribbon, the National Defense Service Medal, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal w/ 9 Campaign stars, the Southwest Asia Service Medal w/ 2 Campaign stars, the Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation (8 awards), the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Kuwait Liberation Medal (Kuwait)

NAMESAKE - Named for the city of Ogden, Utah - Seat of Weber County, named for Peter Skene Ogden, Canadian explorer and fur trader

Second ship of the United States Navy to be named for the city Ogden Utah; USS Ogden PF-39 and USS Ogden LPD-5.
