Other Information

USS GENESEE received the World War I Victory Medal w/ Patrol clasp, the American Defense Service Medal w/ Fleet clasp, the American Campaign Medal, the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with 1 Battle star, the World War II Victory Medal and the Philippines Defense Medal during her Naval career.

NAMESAKE - Towns in Idaho, Michigan, New York, and Pennsylvania; and a river in Pennsylvania and New York.

Three ships of the US Navy have borne the name GENESEE - USS Genesee (1862 Steamer), USS Genesee AT-55 and USS Genesee AOG-8
