USS NIAGARA earned 1 battle star for her World War II service

NAMESAKE - Named for Fort Niagara which was Captured from the British by American forces 28 November 1812.

Eight ships of the US Navy have borne the name NIAGARA - USS Niagara (1813 Brig), USS Niagara (1855 Steam Frigate), USS Niagara (1898 Steamer), USS Niagara SP-246,
USS Niagara SP-263, USS Niagara SP-136, USS Niagara PG-52, and USS Niagara APA-87.
