Other Information

USS TOLEDO earned the Combat Action Ribbon, the China Service Medal, the World War II Victory Medal, the World War II Occupation Medal w/ Asia Clasp, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korea Service Medal (w/ 5 Battle stars), the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (2 awards), the Republic of Korea Presidential Unit Citation Ribbon, the United Nations Korea Service Medal and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal during her Naval career.

NAMESAKE - Named for the city of Toledo, OH.

The ships sponsor was Mrs. Edward J. Moan.

Three ships of the US Navy have been named TOLEDO - USS Toledo PF-33 (renamed USS Dearborn in 1943), USS Toledo CA-133 and USS Toledo SSN-769.
