USS MILLICOMA earned the American Campaign Medal, the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal w/ 8 Battle stars, the World War II Victory Medal, the Navy Occupation Medal w/ Asia clasp, the National Defense Service Medal (2 awards), the Philippines Presidential Unit Citation Ribbon and the Philippines Liberation Medal (2 awards) during her Naval career.

NAMESAKE - A tributary of the Coos River in southwestern Oregon.

The ships sponsor was Mrs. M. G. Hogan.
