Naval Covers

USS NASHVILLE earned the following awards during her Naval career; the Joint Meritorious Unit Award Ribbon, the Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon, the Navy Meritorious Unit Commendation Ribbon (3 awards), the Navy Battle "E" Ribbon (3 awards), the Navy Expeditionary Medal (3 awards), the National Defense Service Medal, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (4 awards), the Southwest Asia Service Medal, the Armed Forces Service Medal and the Humanitarian Service Medal.

NAMESAKE - Named for the city of Nashville, Tennessee.

Three ships of the US Navy have borne the name NASHVILLE - USS Nashville PG-7, USS Nashville CL-43 and USS Nashville LPD-13.

The ships sponsor was Mrs. Roy L. Johnson.
