Naval Covers

Other Information

The USS Chosin has earned the Navy Battle "E" Ribbon (5 awards), the National Defense Service Medal (2 awards), the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (3 awards), the Southwest Asia Service Medal (2 awards), the Humanitarian Service Medal, the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (5 awards), the Kuwait Liberation Medal (Kuwait) and a Canadian Forces Unit Commendation as of February 2008.

NAMESAKE - Named in commemoration of the First Marine Division’s breakout from a Chinese Communist encirclement at the Chosin Reservoir during the Korean War in the bitter winter of 1950.
