Other Information

USS SEAWOLF earned the Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon and the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal w/ 13 battle stars during her World War II service.

NAMESAKE - A solitary fish with strong, prominent teeth and projecting tusks that give it a savage look.

Four submarines of the U.S. Navy have borne the name SEAWOLF - USS Seawolf (renamed H-1) SS-28, USS Seawolf SS-197, USS Seawolf SSN-575 and USS Seawolf SSN-21.

The ships sponsor was Mrs. Syria Florence Kalbfus, wife of Admiral Edward C. Kalbfus
