Other Information
USS MENDOCINO earned the American Campaign Medal, the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal w/ 1 Battle star, the World War II Victory Medal and the Navy Occupation Service Medal w/ Asia clasp during her Naval career.
NAMESAKE - A county in northern California along the Pacific coast.
The ships sponsor was Mrs. William Tillotson.
