Postmarks

Within each set, the postmarks should be listed in order of their classification type. If more than one postmark has the same classification, then they should be further sorted by date of earliest known usage.

A postmark should not be included unless accompanied by a close-up image and/or an image of a cover showing that postmark. Date ranges MUST be based ONLY ON COVERS IN THE MUSEUM and are expected to change as more covers are added.

USCGC CAMPBELL earned the American Defense Medal w/ "A" device, the American Campaign Medal, the European/African/Middle Eastern Campaign Medal w/ 3 battle stars, the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, the World War II Victory Medal, the Navy Occupation Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal (2 awards), the Vietnam Service Medal w/ 4 battle stars, the Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation Ribbon, the Vietnam Civil Actions Unit Citation Ribbon and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal during her Coast Guard career.

NAMESAKE - George Washington Campbell (9 February 1769 – 17 February 1848)
Campbell was an American statesman being appointed Secretary of the Treasury by James Madison as his last government position.
