Other Information
USS ADMIRALTY ISLANDS earned the American Campaign Medal, the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal w/ 3 Battle stars and the World War II Victory Medal during her Naval career.
NAMESAKE - CHAPIN BAY A bay in Alaska, on the southeast coast of Admiralty Island, Alexander Archipelago.
NAMESAKE - ADMIRALTY ISLANDS A group of 18 islands located within the Bismark Archipelago in the southwest Pacific Ocean, north of New Guinea.
The ships sponsor was Mrs. Homer Norman Wallin.
