Variant i for a Type 6 Cancel

Type 6 cancels with variant i have a pointed grid (the top and bottom are pointed rather than rounded).

 

The following cancel is classified as Type 6i

The above example is provided to show the normal rounding at the top and bottom of a Type 6 grid in comparison to the i variant.

 

Variant i for a Type 7 Cancel

Type 7 cancels with variant i have some kind of wording or a slogan in the killer.

 

The following cancel is classified as Type 7dity ("NORFOLK, VA.","FIRST DAY OF ISSUE") [S-23b]

"NORFOLK, VA." is associated with the y variant code. "FIRST DAY OF ISSUE" is associated with the i variant code.
