Postmarks

A postmark should not be included unless accompanied by a close-up image and/or an image of a cover showing that postmark. Date ranges MUST be based ONLY ON COVERS IN THE MUSEUM and are expected to change as more covers are added.

O'CALLAHAN earned the following awards during her Naval career - Combat Action Ribbon - Coast Guard Meritorious Unit Commendation - Navy Battle "E" (2) - National Defense Service Medal w/star - Vietnam Service Medal w/ 3 stars - Sea Service Deployment Ribbon w/ 4 stars - Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.

NAMESAKE - Captain Joseph Timothy O’Callahan, Chaplain Corps, USNR (May 14 1905 – March 18 1964)
Father O'Callahan served on board carrier USS Franklin CV-13 when she endured her fiery ordeal off the coast of Japan on March 19 1945. Captain O’Callahan received the Medal of Honor for “conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of his life above and beyond the call of duty.”
